I invite you to read one of 20+ poems that I was inspired to write during the last 18 months. The poems are sensual and touch on advocacy – all with a theme of finding my voice. I am excited to share these with you in my Compost to Compote collection. I’m learning a lot in this process, the extensive time it takes to write, edit, and publish – I would love community support to help me bring this writing to people who can really connect with it. My vision is to help others find their voice and be inspired to creatively express their own healing journeys.
Stay tuned for the release multifaceted project and enjoy this poem, Blink. If you feel inspired, you can support my upcoming book releases – 40 Days in a Dress & Compost to Compote. Thanks in advance – your encouragement and financial support goes a long way to keep these projects on track.
Blink
Can’t afford no more words of indifference
the rhetoric of mine and yours
Polarity is disparity
and as a nation
we are
creating a loss of sensation
In between silence there is
lots of nonsense
disguised as pretense
It is nothing short of a scene
from all that can be gleamed
A war of classes
watch our masses
on the brink of destruction
of our rights
The mights of which are winning over
our rational thinking
Blink
and it’s all gone
Why are you looking forlorn?
Didn’t think it would happen?
it has and it will—just wait and see
Don’t credit others, gotta start with me
Where to next in liminal space?
inside the noose
ripe for dynamic co-creation
rampant thoughts on the loose
Hear the call to be inventive
and take action
It will take just a fraction
of your time
cost less than a dime
to make a difference
MLK for reference
Passion and courage
be the bridge
to a better world evolution
What is done is done
like at the end of day
we say goodbye to the sun
But in this case – no one has won
call in the fire
call out the liar
We will lose what we have unless you make a stink
Think about that
we are on the brink
Blink and it is all gone
Blink and it is all gone
