What makes my Reiki special? It is something about not knowing. I have to be very present in the way that I “dance” with my client. A sensitivity to what they walk into the room with and what they really want from the session. And an underlying trust that they will receive exactly what they want and need.
To the extent that our hearts are open to the “dance we will dance” together, I never know what that dance will really look like – and I’m often surprised by the magic that happens when two beings come together and collaborate in this way.
And maybe I don’t really know what this “dance of Reiki” is. And maybe, from that place of not actually knowing, but by being in a deep study of my own relationship to energy work, I can allow for something beyond myself to inform the way the session unfolds. For each specific client, there is a unique presentation of the relationship with ones’ healing or health – again, hard to define. At least there is this invitation to drop into a quiet, still place — so we both can listen deeply to what is asking to be acknowledged.
How gentle and profound the gentle act of being can be deeply healing. The act of presence and listening – it is not so much doing as just being with someone’s pain, journey, joy and discovery. What a gift it is to me as well.
Reiki is the broad term I use to describe the art of this practice. But it is not limited to that term – my healing is more free-form and incorporates other modalities I have studied. Being open to the “dance” allows for more heart-centered creative work to occur. It is a co-creative experience that empowers the client to subtly lead and step into their power.
This holiday season, Reiki Gift Certificates make a heart-felt gift. Please contact me to order a gift certificate and visit me at the numerous local artisan holiday markets I will be participating in with my artwork, herbal products, and CBD infused balms.
