Be Careful What You Wish For…

I had been hoping for a break recently; the chance to slow down some and smell the flowers.  And I got what I asked for–a break to the radius bone in my left hand!

Little did I know how profound an opportunity that this break would be; a chance to continue on the conscious and intentional healing/learning journey that has been a preoccupation of mine for a number of years.

So, what have I learned about healing from this experience?

  • The need for patience–surrendering to the process of clearing shock and then allowing the bones to heal–8weeks on average before PT.
  • Resting and slowing down–healing requires energy; I am tired with the simplest things. I would need to rest and manage the deep, achy bone pain.
  • Importance of asking for help–healing requires being humble and real and listening to signs of overdoing
  • To be compassionate with my self. Pain is not where I would have imagined; I feel pain in my elbow and collarbone and my whole body compensates as a result.
  • • To practice self care–acute attention to diet, energy work, good sleep
  • That even though I’m right handed, I use my left more than I knew.
  • I tire of repeating the accident in my mind.
  • I can and do find new ways to be creative.
  • I can manifest.
  • And, most importantly, I need to be careful what I wish for.

From now on, I will ask that my lessons come more gently!
