Reiki for Self, Plants, Animals and the Non-verbal

Reiki works because it doesn’t need the spoken language to understand it. It is a love language of sorts. It is freer in its form. I am not directing anything or following set hand positions but rather following energy patterns and listening to the clients / recipients higher self for guidance on what area needs support. As a practitioner, I am not attached to the outcome and I trust that the energy goes where it is needed and the client gets what she/he needs at that time. I hold space and acknowledge whatever “congestion” is in the field and then I encourage the body through a stillness to open up to more energetic flow. Permission is always asked and in the event of a non verbal response, I can intuit a yes or no. That “no” I receive must always be respected.

When one receives a Reiki treatment, there is a way of interacting with each other that bypasses the rational brain and honors the innate intelligence of the human being to find its right balance and relationship to the emotional, mental, spiritual and physical. It works because we are energy beings and we consciously and often unconsciously interact with the world around us when our fields come in contact. Holding a certain frequency allows another to adjust and rebalance which in turn might feel very peaceful, realizing or pleasant. Sometimes, a client may receive a “healing” or “information” that can support a condition based on their intention for the session.

Reiki on a dog? A horse? A wild bunny? Most sentient beings just love this work. When I worked out of my house, I would have frequent visitors outside my door—squirrels, birds, deer, a fox and even a bear!

A family with an autistic 13-year old child recently stayed with us. The child wandered into our bedroom and was soon flopping around on top of the covers before he found that what he really wanted was that “wombing” feeling of being under the sheets and heavy cover. I sat on the edge of the bed just holding space for him to settle and he rested his head on my thigh eventually and then fell asleep with my hand gently resting on his back.

Who and what doesn’t benefit from stillness and quiet and being met with an open heart? So much healing comes in a variety of ways but setting up regular sessions can definitely support anyone with a chronically challenged or frazzled nervous system.

When I work with the plants and spend relaxed time and intentional time harvesting them, I can really feel more of their fullness and the products feel more potent.

Reiki is a part of my everyday life. It has made my life so rich. If you are interested in learning Reiki or receiving a session please contact me or learn more about my Reiki practice.
